A Whole New World

Image
A whole new world, sounds like a song I know.  Here we are in a new year with a whole batch of new games to look forward too and hopefully many of you received a new computer or console to play those games on as a Christmas gift. I was one of the fortunate ones and managed to secure a PS5 right at Christmas. Since that acquisition, I have been playing like a madman on the device.          The Playstation 5 is certainly billed correctly on the loading times and cut down on fast travel waiting periods. My load-time from start page to gameplay for AC Valhalla on the PS4 was five minutes without jiggling the controller. Now, on the PS5, that same transition point takes maybe thirty seconds and fast travel is like two seconds. I knew the graphics were going to be incredible but the load times are so welcoming that I am still doing my happy dance.          As alluded to earlier, there are new games that will be coming that the new consoles can accentuate. One of the games I am r

The Assassin's Creed Experience

I have to be careful with this post because I could easily write a book about this topic. I am passionate about this subject. I have followed the Assassin's Creed series since "go". And, like a true fan, I eagerly await the next installment or transformation of the AC Universe.          For those who have a limited knowledge of the game and series, I will now dive into it for you and try to keep the info at a certain level so you might consider grabbing the games and play them yourselves.          In order of game release we have the protagonists of -  Altair (Assassin's Creed) Ezio (AC2) Ezio (AC Brotherhood) Ezio (AC Revelations) Conner (AC3) Kenway (AC Black Flag) Patrick Cormac (AC Rogue) Arno Dorian (AC Unity) Jacob/Evie Frye (AC Syndicate) Bayek (AC Origins) Alexios/Kassandra (AC Odyssey) Evior (AC Valhalla)          There have been many DLC's released within each game. One DLC that was released for Black Flag, entitled Freedom Cry, eventually be

Past, Present and Future

I am a 1970 kid. A lot has happened in the world in every area, but especially the technology arena in the last 51 years. Speaking of the video gaming industry that sits within the technology world, Atari would be getting ready to celebrate 50 years next year if they had not closed their operations in 1992.          The video gaming industry has made leaps and bounds since Atari, but we bow to them for getting the ball rolling. And now look, that ball has snowballed into a huge mountain of a boulder. From a couple of pixels in the game Pong to two dimensional games from the people over at Nintendo to now incredibly realistic games. Sometimes I have to touch the screen to make sure I don't get my hand wet in a waterfall or stream.         Leaders such as Sony and Microsoft seem to have been playing an eternal game of video gaming business tennis . One company will come out with a console or feature better or before the other and then the other company does the
